Finding Comfort After Pet Loss: Why I created this blog.

Losing a beloved pet can be heartbreaking. When I had to put my precious kitty to sleep, my heart was aching and breaking.
She was very sick and although I was hopeful the vet would give me a plan to bring back her health, I knew deep inside I had to set her free.
I had to release her from a body that was no longer serving her. Her life had drastically changed over the last few months, and she was no longer living her best life. She actually wasn’t living life at all.
I’ve had to say goodbye to other beloved pets over the years, and it never gets easier. In fact, saying goodbye to my precious cat “Bunny” (pictured above) brought up all the past grief I felt from saying goodbye to my other beloved fur babies.
If you're like me, you consider your pets to be a part of your family, and you understand this grief. I’ve lost human family members as well as furry and feathered family members, and for me, the grief of losing a beloved pet can hurt just as much.
And sometimes, the loss of a four-legged family member hits harder because of the unconditional love freely shared.
Unfortunately, there is no way to stop the grief - you have to feel it and work through it. Some say the grief you experience is a testament to how deeply you loved what you have lost. I think that is true.
I created this website to help anyone grieving the loss of a beloved pet. Like me, I’m sure you always begin your relationship with your fur-babies knowing that you will most likely outlive them, but that doesn’t stop us from adopting them, caring for them and loving them, until we have to say goodbye.
Why do we continue to do this? I can only answer that question for myself; I do it again and again because I want to help an animal who needs love and someone to care for them. And because the love they give me in return is immeasurable, as is the joy and warmth I receive as a pet parent.
I hope you find comfort and knowledge here. I wish you peace and comfort in the memory of your beloved fur babies.
I'll miss you forever, my sweet "Bunny" cat.
